Aggregate
Unit weight, Weight per unit volume, voids
The dry aggregate sample is placed into a calibrated measure one-third full and rodded the depth of the layer 25 times. This process is repeated a second and third time filling the measure. The measure is then weighed, and the mass per unit volume determined. If the void content is desired, the specific gravity of the aggregate is measured and used with the unit weight to calculate the void content as a percent.

Typically 14L, but determined by maximum aggregate size.
