Soil
Permeability, Flow Rate, Hydraulic conductivity
This test method covers laboratory measurement of the hydraulic conductivity (also referred to as coefficient of permeability) of water-saturated porous materials with a flexible wall permeameter. This test method may be utilized with undisturbed or compacted specimens having a hydraulic conductivity less than or equal to 1x10-5m/s (1x10-3cm/s). The hydraulic conductivity of materials with hydraulic conductivities greater the 1x10-5m/s may be determined by Test Method D2434. This test method applies to one-dimensional, laminar flow of water within porous materials such as soil and rock.
