Customized Systems - Rock

Geocomp LoadTrac-II-50K  has a capacity of 222 kN (50,000 lbf.)  was designed to test rock to determine the compressive strength, Youngs modulus and poisons ratio without the use of the time consuming and cumbersome strain gages. The rock-testing fixture uses two vertical, and two horizontal LVDTs with a range of 5.0 mm ( 0.2 in.), and a swivel head. This solution allowed the customer to run a high volume of tests in a relatively short time.

Customized Systems - Asphalt
The LoadTrac II load frame provides compression testing for a number of geoetchnical tests as well as asphalt tests such as the indirect tensile test on core asphalt samples. With accessories, the same unit can be adapted to perform any stress or stress control test.

Customized Systems - Geosynthetics

The LoadTrac-II unit with a combination of pneumatic grips and appropriate accessories and software module is capable of performing low frequency cyclic testing on Geosynthetics materials.  This particular test was used to correlate and determine the calibration factor between the embedded strain gauges and the strains from the external LVDT's.

Customized Systems - Special accessories
This long travel range LoadTrac-II unit was specially designed and built for a research project at the University of Padova (Italy) to test the long-term compressibility and permeability properties of landfill solid waste.Sample size had to be at least 255 mm (10 in.) in diameter, and 300 mm (12 in.) in height. The anticipated deformations were on the order of 200 mm (8 in.). A companion stainless steel chamber with an internal diameter of 255 mm (10 in.) and a height of 350 mm (14 in.) with four side permeability ports, and two bottom ones was also built to successfully complete this research program on time.
