Corporation, a technology based company that
identifies and manages risks associated with

private works projects, has recently appointed
Thomas Tye, P.E., as Branch Manager for their Atlanta
office.
Geocomp has offered testing services in Atlanta
for several years through its subsidiary Geotesting
Express. Working closely with Jianren Wang, Branch
Manager of Geotesting Express, Mr. Tye will promote
the consulting and product divisions of Geocomp in
Atlanta as well as other southern markets.
Geocomp caters to owners and agencies demanding
niche geotechnical services for their large
infrastructure projects throughout the U.S.
The company’s consulting services include active
risk management, risk monitoring, performance
monitoring, facility health monitoring, design
of geo-systems, numerical modeling and forensic
analysis. The company also offers automated
soil testing equipment as well as the real-time,
on-demand, web-based monitoring services through
its iSite and iSiteCentral products.

Mr. Tye holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s
degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia
Institute of Technology in Atlanta as well
as an MBA from Georgia State University.
Prior to Geocomp, Mr. Tye was Engineering
Manager at Piedmont Geotechnical Consultants
of Roswell, Georgia and Technical/Business
Director of ATC Associates southeast regional
office, and Department Manager with Law
Engineering (now MACTEC). Mr. Tye has
performed specialty work throughout his
career including deep foundation analysis,
construction material testing, seawall
design, and construction management.
Mr. Tye is a member of the American Society
of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He resides in
the Atlanta area.
Well-established in the U.S., Geocomp’s
client base includes Lawrence Livermore
National Lab at the University of California
and other universities and the U.S. Army
Corp of Engineers as well as other
government agencies and private labs.
