Careers: Geostructural Engineer
Geostructural engineer experienced in heavy civil infrastructure design/construction: subsurface/deep foundation; earth retaining structures/levee embankment; excavation.
Responsibilities:
- Geotechnical engineering, including data interpretation & analysis
- Evaluate project sites and subsurface conditions
- Geotechnical design calculations (support of excavation, slope stability, etc.), for below/above grade structural systems
- Managing scope, schedule and budget at the task level, interacting with client contacts
- Prepare and/or review of engineering submittals for construction
- Preparation of engineering reports for geostructural design
- Field oversight of contractors
- Prepare bids and proposals for a variety of consulting projects
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed at any level to ensure strong company performance
Competencies/experience:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineer with geotechnical/geostructural concentration and 4-6 years' related experience, PE preferred or ability to obtain PE within 9 months.
- Strong technical design background in geotechnical analyses
- Solid experience/ability to manage scope, schedule, budget for projects
- Familiarity with task engineering software (e.g., slope stability programs, Finite Element; Plaxis preferred)
- Solid skill/experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel
- Strong teamwork/collaboration skills with ability to work effectively with both clients and multidisciplinary teams at all levels
- Eagerness and flexibility to work on a wide variety of activities at all levels as requested
- Highly curious with passion for learning and growing career/experience
- Adaptable to adjust to change and company needs
- Committed to client service and process improvement
- Willingness to travel and spend time on project site(s) during critical stages.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication; second language valuable.
