Kentucky Lock and Dam
Geocomp developed and installed an automated instrumentation system to monitor excavation during the construction work at the Kentucky Lock and Dam. The installed sensors measure lateral movements and are connected to a wireless network of data loggers that connect to Geocomp's iSiteCentral™ web-based data collection and reporting system that provides an alarm status to project teams of movement.
North Shore Connector
Construction during the extension of the Allegheny County's Light Rail Transit system - the North Shore Connector - required monitoring of surrounding historical buildings and elevated highways to alert project teams of movement. Geocomp implemented its iSite datalogging™ system along with the iSiteCentral™ WEB-based data management program to deliver data to project team on a real-time basis 24/7.
Logan International Airport
Settlement concerns during construction of Taxiway M at Logan International Airport in Boston required the contractor to turn to Geocomp to devise a method and system to monitor potential settlement as construction progressed. As backfilling and compaction took place, Geocomp sensors measured the changes in pressure. Sensor data was recorded automatically by Geocomp's dataloggers and transmitted in real time to Geocomp's web-based monitoring system, iSite-Central™.
Ballardvale Bridge Emergency Response
Cracks in the Ballardvale Bridge alerted Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA) to structural health of the bridge. MBTA immediately contacted Geocomp to design and install monitoring equipment on the bridge to assess and analyze the impact of train traffic load. Geocomp implemented its iSiteCentral™ system which automatically collected data. Geocomp engineers reviewed data to measure high-speed displacement.
